This Roman Polanski-directed dramedy is about two couples who meet at one of their New York City apartments to discuss their sons' fight. Starring Jodie Foster, Christoph Waltz, Kate Winslet, and John C. Reilly, this short (about an hour and twenty minutes) feature is smart but short of brilliant. This character study features the best performance of the act of throwing up that I have ever seen by Winslet, the always-answering-the-phone-for-work American dad by Waltz, the mom who assumes her son is always right by Foster, and the laid-back dad by Reilly. This all-star cast nailed it, and the warm, homey feeling of the apartment settles you in for a nice treat. Not your typical Polanski movie, but enjoyable nonetheless. The camerawork was done nice and fluently, but nothing extraordinary took place. There's not much more to say about it simply because there wasn't much to see. I recommend seeing it for the heck of it; plus to see great acting, my favorite performance in the film being Waltz without the German accent.
